Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1965 as General Streams which has been updated as Honours course in the year 1966. The department proudly swaggers about a healthy and cordial student teacher relationship. The professors are readily approachable to the tutees and the students are congenial enough to requite them with utmost esteem, approbation, and regard. The students of this department consult the teachers time to time for solving the problems and thinking new idea about Mathematics. The students of this department are benefited by the seminar library books as well as books from the central library. The students can contact the professors outside college hours via e-mail or phone. The department works in tandem, with mutual respect and fellow feeling, to generate an atmosphere conducive to higher learning. The teacher student relationship thrives and is exhibited during the Annual College Sports. Many esteemed Professor from reputed institutions visited our department as speakers for the National Level seminars organized by our department which enriched our students on the impact of mathematics on Natural Sciences. In every year, near about 15% students got chance in IIT, NIT and many other premier institutes by qualifying JAM, TIFR etc. for Masters and Research. Plenty of students of this department got Job in reputed MNC, Banks and PSU. Though many of the students in our department are first generation learners from very remote and village area department has to give some special attention on them to achieve their goals.
